Dear __________:
The largest restoration project in the world has been in the planning
stages
for more then seven years. This project is known as Everglades
Restoration.
The Everglades are a very important part of America and should be
restored.
I have recently learned about a number of problems plan that are of great
concern to me. One of these is that plan does not restore all of the
Everglades. In fact it will continue to destroy them as is being done
today
by placing too much water on the largest portion of the Everglades.
While
Everglades is a swamp it like all living things can be drowned. That is
what
the current plan will do.
Is this plan really an urban water supply plan? Or, is it restoration.
I ask that you look real close at this project and to pay particular
attention to the information present by the Everglades Coordinating
Council.
This group has many years of experience and knowledge about the
Everglades.
They understand how the Everglades are supposed to work, better than any
group involved in this project.
Please make sure these Federal funds restore ALL the Everglades, Lake
Okeechobee and not merely select parts of it.
Sincerely,
BACK
