This way when you are using it you can tell at a glance what lure is tied on the particular rod. The type that use canvas or colored plastic require that you open the wrap before you can see the lure. Also this little unit has almost nothing for the hooks to get stuck in where the canvas or foam type allow this to happen. |  |
